Opening Day Activities Postponed Due to Bad Weather PDF Print E-mail

Today was scheduled for Registration and Opening Day "Getting Closer to Jesus" Conference with Speakers Carroll Kinley and Philip Wysocki.  God, however, had other plans.   Our brethren in Arkansas are unable to make it to Oxford due to icy roads, one faculty member would not be able to be here due to a church member being in the hospital, and the Cain family are all under the weather and visiting the doctor today.

We have postponed everything until next Monday and Tuesday.  Registration between 10:00 and 12:00.  Everyone on their own for lunch.  Conference beginning at 2:00 p.m.  The evening meal at 5:00 p.m.  Evening service at 7:00 p.m.   On Tuesday our faculty will speak beginning at 8:00 a.m. until noon.

We regret that this has happened, but God always knows best, and He is always in control.

FIRST MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHRUCH
FRESHMAN GRANT

First Missionary Baptist Church of Hodges, AL, has been blessed over the years to have had three pastors who have either been a student at or have served as an instructor at Oxford Baptist Institute. We recognize the value of a quality Christian education; therefore we wanted to have a larger part in helping God-called man get their start down that road.
Under the leadership of current pastor, Dr. Marty Guidry, the members of First MBC voted to furnish a $500 grant that will go toward books and school fees for the freshman year of an incoming ministerial student. It is also our heart-felt desire that the recipient of this grant be a man who is completely committed to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his call to preach, and to receiving a Bible education from Oxford Baptist Institute. He must be a man who is faithful to his family, the church he pastors, or the church where he holds membership; and he must be of high moral character.  We at First MBC feel it is very important to be good stewards of what God has entrusted to us, therefore we feel these qualifications are essential.
If you meet all of these qualifications, please contact Pastor Marty Guidry at 205-935-3963; or if you choose you may e-mail him at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
